VOX Telehealth OrthoCare Program Now Offered in Spanish

Princeton, NJ, August 16, 2016 – VOX Telehealth, a leader in the development of orthopedic patient engagement programs, today announced its OrthoCare Program has been enhanced to include a Spanish version of the solution. OrthoCare optimizes care for patients undergoing major hip or knee replacement surgery with a patient management system that better educates, supports, and connects patients throughout their episode of care. The Spanish version of the OrthoCare Program, which was developed in collaboration with Medical Center Arlington, went live at the facility earlier this month.

“The first step to empowering patients to become active participants in their care, is to ensure strong and clear lines of communication to enable comprehensive understanding,” said David Brown, Founder and CEO of VOX Telehealth. “The addition of Spanish to the VOX OrthoCare Program reflects our continued commitment to helping healthcare providers meet the needs of their diverse patient populations and enabling patients to become more involved and more accountable in their care.”

The OrthoCare Program is a procedure-specific, web-based solution that can be delivered on multiple device platforms. Starting 30 days prior to surgery and managing the transition and recovery up to 90 days post-surgery, the program engages patients throughout the entire episode of care, enhancing care coordination and patient accountability. Unique features of the OrthoCare Program include:

  • Easy-to-navigate educational content and daily checklists to prepare patients for surgery and guide them through recovery
  • Patient reminders and symptomatic observations tied to a customizable alert escalation and notification system ensuring patients maintain compliance
  • HIPAA-compliant internal messaging making all alerts actionable
  • Progress recovery observations and reporting

Using OrthoCare, healthcare professionals have the ability to improve patient outcomes, enhance their experience, and reduce the cost of care. A study of OrthoCare confirmed the program improved outcomes for participating patients with increased direct-to-home discharges, reduced length of stay, fewer readmissions, and improved patient perception of their physician and hospital.
