VOX Telehealth Partners to Develop Palliative Care Program

Jul 18, 2014

Jul 18, 2014, Pennington, NJ – VOX Telehealth, a leader in the development of technology-based patient engagement solutions, is excited to announce their strategic collaboration around the development of a PalliativeCare Program to address existing inefficiencies in the level and quality of patient engagement of this quickly growing and evolving model of healthcare.

In partnership with the New York based HealthCare Chaplaincy Network and clinicians from Northwestern and the Princeton Medical Center, VOX is building programs that, not only address the care plan related to a patient’s specific disease, but also engage the patient in the “softer” aspects of healthcare including decision making, caregiver coordination, spiritual and social services, and health & wellness education which represent the foundation of the palliative model of care.

“With the episodic definition of palliative care expanding and the lack of clinical specialists in this area, we are facing a particularly acute deficiency in the needed engagement of patients in the palliative care population,” stated Dr. David Barile, Director of Geriatrics & Palliative Care at the Princeton Medical Center and Founder and Director of Goals of Care. “Not only might technology help to fill the growing gap between patient and clinician in this area, but it may very well help us get further than ever before in the development of care plans that not only provide a better patient and caregiver experience but greatly reduce the number of admissions and unnecessary services.”
